Premier League holders Manchester City have extended their lead at the top of the table to three points after they thumped hosts Newcastle United and their title rivals namely Liverpool and Chelsea dropped points on the road. The three major Premier League title contenders were on the road and it was only the Citizens who finished their game with three points.
Manchester City had earlier stretched their lead from one point to four points after beating struggling Newcastle United 4-0 in the early game on Sunday. Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling were all on target as the Citizens recorded an emphatic victory at the expense of the Magpies to increase their lead at the summit to four points. On their part, West London giants Chelsea could only play a goalless draw at Wolves as their title challenge faltered.
